![]() This study contributes to interdisciplinary dialogue between food and tourism literature by proposing a coordinate framework with two axes, the spectrum of cultural distance and the spectrum of serving tourists/locals, to classify destination foodscape and a six-dimensional network construct to reveal the connotations of destination foodscape. We summarize five types of destination foodscapes, globalized recreational foodscape, staged local foodscape, glocalized foodscape, authentic local foodscape, and overseas ethnic foodscape in which tourists obtain different familiar-novelty hybrid experiences. ![]() Through netnography, this study collects and analyzes 86 posts of travelogues published from 2012 to 2019 in Mafengwo, a famous Chinese online travel community, about Chinese tourists’ food experiences in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Tourists’ travelogues provide a rich database to examine this question. However, few studies explore how to frame the types and connotations of destination foodscape. Tourism provides a cross-cultural context where tourists can consume different destination foods and places, during which multiple types of destination foodscapes are produced. Findings assist conference owners develop essential communication strategies for green attendees.įoodscape conceptualizes the dynamic human–food–place nexus. Findings demonstrate that attitudes and ecological beliefs play an essential role in conference app adoption, in comparison with performance expectations, social impacts, and facilitation conditions, as presented in the traditional technology acceptance literature. This study provides empirical evidence to add ecological beliefs as a key predictor of green IS adoption models. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted on 403 responses for data analysis and validation of the results using SPSS AMOS ver. Data was collected using Mturk's panel of respondents on online Qualtrics. Survey instrument had 29 items adapted from existing scales. This study aims to investigate attendees' behaviors for adopting green IS (such as conference apps) from an ecological perspective.įor this research, a survey method was used. Conference travel by air contributes to huge amount of global greenhouse gas emissions, which can be reduced by adopting green information systems (green IS or GIS). Academic conferences are carbon-intensive.
